It’s the time of the year when bat crafts for kids are a favourite with everyone! Halloween party decorations and Halloween crafts are certainly incomplete without the quintessential bat crafts.
While bats may have creepy reputations, we find bats rather super cute! They are the only mammals that fly and not to mention their cool preying technique of echolocation that makes them stand out in the animal kingdom!
Perhaps these one of a kind features earned them their special place in Halloween activities and crafts. Whatever the reason may be, there is no doubt that bat crafts are super fun and easy to make!

Fun Bat Craft For Kids
This bat craft is sure to get your kids excited. It is one of the best bat crafts and truly unique. You can easily hang it with a twine to make it into a hanging bat craft or simply use it as a halloween decoration.
Let’s get started with this fun craft!
Supplies:
● Construction Paper – Black, White & Yellow
● Glue Stick
● Popsicle stick
● Googly eyes
● Scissors
● Scotch tape
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut a rectangle from the black construction paper. We used the size 6cm x 11 cm. Roll it into a cone shape and use a tape to seal it.
In case you have an empty toilet roll, paint it black using acrylic paint and go to step 2.
2. Fold the wide side of the cone by pushing it at the centre from the front and back side, creating sharp corners on the left and right side. You can cut it out but it’s better if you just fold it like that. This will make the body of your bat craft.
3. Using scissors, cut two rectangles from the black craft paper to make wings of the bat. We used the size of 8cm x 23cm.
4. Fold the rectangles in accordion style to give them an effect of a true bat wings.
5. Glue one side of the folded paper to get a triangle/ fan shape. Repeat the process with the other folded paper as well.
6. Cut out two thin but long rectangles from the black-colored paper and paste them on the glued side of the wing where the sides are glued, making the bat’s thumb.

7. To complete the wings, fold them completely and carefully cut it in a slant position at the free end to make them look like real bat wings.
8. Cut another rectangle from the black paper. Fold it in half and cut out a curve from each side and open it. We used a size of 3cm x 8 cm.
9. Using a glue stick or glue gun, attach the body of the bat at the fold (middle) of the wavy rectangle. You can also use white glue but a glue gun gives more stability to the craft. In using a glue gun, make sure an adult uses it.
10. Glue the bat wings onto each side of the curved rectangle. Leave a tiny space between each wing and the body.
Then carefully glue the popsicle stick at the back of the bat along the length of the curved rectangle to make your bat craft strong enough to hold each wing steady.
11. Using glue stick or glue gun, paste googly eyes onto your bat’s face.
12. To complete the look, cut two small triangles from both white and yellow paper to make bat teeth and bat ears.
13. Paste the ears around the top corners of the face and teeth below the googly eyes to finish your bat craft.
Your Bat is now ready to fly! Make it in different sizes to get a complete bat family and use them as centerpieces. Or you can turn them into dangling bats by threading a twine at the bottom end of the bat’s bodies.
