Easy Camel Craft With Free Template
Making this Camel bookmark craft is super fun! All you need is simple craft supplies easily available at home.
Include this craft in your desert unit study, animal adaptations unit or simply make it to boost fine motor skills and creativity.
Fun Fact: Just like blubber, Camel’s hump stores fat to help it survive when food is scarce.
Supplies:
- Colored cardstock paper or thick craft papers
- Origami craft paper
- Pencil – to trace the template
- Scissors
- Glue
- Felt-tip pen

How to Make Camel Paper Craft
Step 1: Print out the camel craft free template and trace the camel patterns on brown craft paper and saddle pattern on colours of your choice. Cut the patterns out.
For a camel’s body, we recommend brown, mustard, yellow or white. Yes! There are white camels as well though they are extremely rare.
Step 2: Paste the leg cutouts along the round edge of the triangular body base, neck and tail cutout on opposite sides of the body base.
Step 3: Next glue the hair cutout on the top side of the head, between the ears; and paste the mouth cutout at the bottom of the head.
Step 4: Paste the head on the neck and the saddle cutout on the body of the camel craft.
Step 5: Paste the saddle decorations on the craft.
Step 6: Next paste the border of the saddle along the bottom side of the saddle to complete the saddle.
Step 7: To make the bookmark, take square origami paper and fold it diagonally into half.
Step 8: Fold the resulting triangle into half and then unfold it to get a nice crease.
Step 9: Fold up the left and right half sides of the triangle along the middle crease.
Step 10: Unfold the left and right folds and fold down the open corner of the top layer to the bottom to form a pocket.
Step 12: Fold up the left and right side up again.
Step 14: Tuck in the top/open half of the left and right sides inside the pocket to complete the corner bookmark
Step 15: Paste the camel craft on the triangle side of the origami corner bookmark to complete the bookmark craft.
Step 16: Lastly, use a fine tip pen to make the eyes, nostrils and smile on the face of the camel craft to finish it.
