This walrus craft is really easy and simple to make. Simple art and craft skills is all you need to make this fun craft for kids. An enjoyable way to encourage fine motor skills and free hand drawing, this craft is sure to get your kids in the creative mood!
Supplies for Paper Plate Walrus Craft for Kids
- Paper plate
- Brown paint
- Paintbrush
- Black sharpie
- Pencil
- Craft paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Two-way tape
Step-by-Step Directions to Make Walrus Craft
Time needed: 20 minutes
- Paint the paper plate.
Take a paper plate and paint it brown. Use thick brown paint or do multiple coats and let the plate dry.
- Cut the plate.
Once the plate is dry, cut the plate in an egg shape to make the face of the walrus.
- Make mouth of the walrus craft.
Take a small section of light brown construction paper, fold it into half and trace the mouth of the walrus as shown. Cut it out using scissors.
- Make nose, eyes & tusks
Similarly, draw a small oval nose on black craft paper, two tusks & eyes on white craft paper. Cut them out. Use the black sharpie and white correction pen to make the eyes.
- Glue the eyes.
Glue the eyes on the paper plate near the narrow end of the paper plate.
- Fix the mouth of the walrus.
Next using double-sided tape, stick the mouth of the walrus just below the eyes. Glue the nose on the mouth.
- Add the tusks.
Lastly, slide in the tusks of the walrus below the mouth and glue them to complete your easy walrus paper plate craft!
