Easy Ghost Pumpkin Craft
All you need is simple supplies to make this Halloween puppet craft for kids. Sure to add excitement to your eerie story sessions with kids, this fun craft is a Halloween favourite with kids!
Supplies:
- Craft paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Felt-tip pens
- Pencil
- Popsickle stick
- Template – Grab the free pumpkin ghost template at the end of the page.
Instructions
- Print & Cut the Template
Print the ghost pumpkin craft template and trace the patterns on construction paper & cut them out. We used orange paper, yellow & green for the pumpkin, its facial features & stem. For the ghost, we used white construction paper.
- Assemble the Ghost
Use black felt-tip pen to draw the face of the ghost. Add red to the mouth and pink for blush to make the ghost look cute and mischievous.
- Cut the Pumpkin cutout
Take the pumpkin cutout and cut it into 2 parts, keeping the top part shorter than the bottom part.
- Add Stem to Pumpkin
Next, paste the stem cutout in the center of the top part of the pumpkin.
- Assemble the Pumpkin
Take the bottom base cutout and bottom half of the pumpkin. Apply glue along the bottom base, leaving the top and small opening at the base of the pumpkin. Paste the bottom half of the pumpkin cutout on it.
- Make Pumpkin Ribs
Check if the pumpkin is aligned properly by placing the pumpkin top on the bottom as shown. Use an orange felt-tip pen to trace the pumpkin and draw the pumpkin ribs.
- Glue Ghost on Pumpkin
Next, take the ghost cutout and glue it on the top of the pumpkin. Slide the popsicle stick through the bottom half of the pumpkin to see if it is moving smoothly.
- Paste ghost on the popsicle stick
Take out the popsicle stick from the pumpkin and glue it to the ghost.
- Assemble the craft
Slide the craft stick into the bottom half of the pumpkin.
- Add Jack-o-lantern features
Lastly, paste the eyes and mouth on the bottom half of the pumpin to complete your pumpkin ghost craft. Move the popsicle stick for a fun effect of the ghost coming out of jack-o-lantern.
