How To Make Cute Paper Butterfly
Time needed: 15 minutes
- Take an origami sheet.
We used a printed origami sheet. If you don’t have a printed origami sheet, you can cut out a square of 15X15 cm from wrapping paper. Fold it diagonally to make a triangle.
- Make accordion folds.
Make small accordion folds on the triangle till you fold the entire sheet.
- Open all the folds and gather them.
Open all the folds of the sheet and gather them again into neat folds to make the veins of the forewing of the paper butterfly.
- Pinch the paper from the center.
To make the forewing, pinch the folds from the center of one side, all the way to the opposite side. Your forewing is now ready.
- Cut a circle from origami paper and make the hindwing of the butterfly.
To make the hindwing of the butterfly craft, cut out a circle from another origami sheet, fold it into half and make accordion folds. Open all the folds of the paper and fold them again neatly. Pinch along the center to make the hindwing.
- Tie the wings of the butterfly craft.
Use a thread to tie the forewing and the hindwing from the center to complete the wings of your beautiful butterfly craft.
- Make the body of the butterfly craft.
Glue the pom-poms on the wings to make the body of the butterfly.
- Make eyes and antennae
To complete your paper butterfly craft, glue googly eyes on the pom-pom and twist pipe-cleaners to make the antennae of the butterfly. Paste them from the back of the pom-pom.
