Pirate Paper Plate Craft

Supplies Needed For Making Pirate Craft
- Construction papers – black and white
- Paper plate
- Acrylic paint – skin, red and blue
- Paintbrush
- Craft glue
- Scissors

How To Make A Paper Plate Pirate
Time needed: 20 minutes
- Prepare the paper plate and paint it
Take a paper plate, clean its back side, and using a pencil draw an arc to divide it into the face and bottom half. Paint the top using skin-tone acrylic paint to make the face of the pirate craft.
- Make the shirt of the pirate
Use red acrylic paint to make two alternate stripes to make the pirate’s shirt part, just below the pirate’s face.
- Paint the trousers
To make the pirate’s pants, use blue color paint to fill in the remaining paper plate below the red stripe. Let the paper plate dry.
- Print and cut out the template
Trace the hat, shoes, and eye patch on black craft paper; the eye, skull, and crossbones on white craft paper. Cut them out.
- Glue the shoes
Paste the shoe cutouts along the bottom side of the painted paper plate pirate craft.
- Fix the paper plate pirate’s hat
Glue the crossbones and skull in the middle of the pirate’s hat. Paste the hat on the top, near the forehead, of the pirate’s face.
- Paste the eyepatch
Glue the eye patch on the head part of your paper plate pirate craft. Use a black sharpie to fill in the eye cutout and paste it on the face. Make sure to align it with an eye patch. Lastly, use a black felt-tip pen to make the nose and mouth of your pirate craft.
