Rocking Paper Ship Craft

Moving paper boat craft is a great addition to easy summer paper crafts for kids. It can be made in under 15 minutes and is so simple that even toddlers can make it with little help.

This DIY ship craft makes for a fun moving paper toy for kids who are obsessed with the oceans and all things nautical. In case you are planning a nautical theme party, this moving ship craft is the perfect centerpiece.

Supplies for Moving Ship Craft 

  • Construction paper – blue and white
  • Sharpies – black and red
  • Glue
  • Scissors

How To Make Rocking Ship Craft

Time needed: 15 minutes

  1. Make the body of the boat

    Use blue craft paper and cut out a circle. We used a circle of 11 cm in diameter. Fold the circle in half to make the body of the rocking ship craft. Cut paper for paper ship craft

  2. Cut a white rectangle

    Cut out a rectangle from white construction paper or any other color paper of your choice and paste it halfway on the fold of the paper ship craft. deck of easy ship craft for kids

  3. Cut a blue rectangle

    Next, cut a smaller rectangle from blue craft paper and paste it on the back of the white rectangle so that nearly half of it is visible from the front.Rocking boat craft step by step

  4. Make the chimneys

    To make the chimneys of the ship, cut out two white strips and paste them on the blue rectangle from the back.Rocking paper ships chimney

  5. Make Portholes

    Using a black sharpie or a felt-tip pen, make three portholes on the paper ship craft.portholes for easy boat craft for toddlers

  6. Make a floating tube

    Lastly to give character to your rocking ship craft, make a floating tube by cutting a circle from white craft paper. Fold it into half and cut out a smaller circle to make a doughnut shape.
     
    Draw lines on the doughnut shape using a red sharpie to complete the floating tube and paste it on the body of the ship craft. Similarly, make a red stripe on each of the chimneys.Boat craft ideas
