Easy Handprint Poppy Wreath Craft
Kids love handprint crafts! This poppy wreath uses handprints as the base of the wreath and paper poppy flowers to adorn it, making it a beautiful and easy remembrance craft for kids.
Supplies for Handprint Poppy Wreath
- Construction Paper
- Yellow tissue paper
- Ribbon
- Cardboard
- Black felt tip pen
- Glue
- Scissors
How To Make:
Step 1: Take dark green and light green construction paper. Trace your kid’s handprint on the paper and cut it out. Using this as a template, cut out enough handprints from dark green and light green paper for the wreath.
Step 2: Make a round wreath base from a cardboard or thick cardstock.
Step 3: Paste the handprints, alternating in colours, on the base of the wreath to cover it completely.
Step 4: To make the poppy flowers, draw a three-petal poppy flower outline on a red craft paper and cut it out. You will need at least 6 cutouts of the poppy flower.
Step 5: Use a black felt tip pen to make fine strokes in the centre of the flower.
Step 6: Curl the petals of the poppy flower inwards.
Step 7: Next take a small square of yellow tissue paper, crumble it into a ball and glue it in the center of a paper poppy flower cutout. Your poppy flower is now ready.
Step 8: Glue the poppy flowers on the wreath.
Step 9: Take a small section of red ribbon and paste it on the back of the wreath to make a loop to hang the poppy wreath.
