How To Make Paper Elephant Craft
Time needed: 20 minutes
- Print the Template
Print the template and cut the pieces out. Trace the rectangle, outer ears, trink on grey craft paper, eyes on white craft paper and blush and inner ears on pink construction paper.
- Fold the Rectangle
Take the rectangular cutout and fold it in half lengthwise. Open it back up to reveal the center crease, then fold both the edges inward so they meet at the center crease.
- Draw the Cut Lines
Turn the rectangle so that the folds face the table. Using a scale and pencil, draw a rectangle as shown in the picture and cut it out to make the body of the elephant craft.
- Make slit for the head
Using scissors, make a small slit near one edge as shown.
- Make Elephant’s hooves
Use a black sharpie and make hooves on the crease line.
- Make the elephant’s body
Turn the body piece upside down and apply glue below the crease line and glue the legs below the crease to make a triangular body shape.
- Make the face cutout
Cut a small rectangle for grey construction paper and fold it into half. For the elephant’s face, trace the circular cutout on a folded rectangular paper so that the straight line of the cutout aligns with the crease on the paper. Cut it out.
- Assemble the ears
Glue the inner ear cutouts on outer ears.
- Make the trunk
Take the trunk cutout and use a black sharpie to draw elephant trunk lines as shown.
- Make the eyes
Take the pupil cutouts and fill it with black colour leaving a small white space and glue them on the eyes cutouts. Next, paste the eyes on the elephant’s face.
- Complete the Elephant’s face
Next, glue the trunk, ears and blush on the elephant’s face.
- Attach the elephant’s face to the body
Slide the back flap of the elephant’s face into the slit to attach the face to the body.
