Uncle Sam Gnome Puppets For Kids

Easy Uncle Sam Gnome Puppet Craft

Make sure to craft these easy uncle sam paper gnome puppets with your kindergarten and older kids to lighten up your patriotic decorations and add fun to your red, white & blue crafts for kids. 

These patriotic puppets make for wonderful keepsakes as well as patriotic favours. Craft a couple of them and let your kids hand them out to your neighbours and their friends to instil patriotism.

Supplies for Uncle Sam Gnome Puppet for Kindergarten

  • Construction papers – red, white, blue and pink
  • Small popsicle sticks
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil
  • Black sharpie or felt tip pen
  • Template (grab free template at the end of the page)

How To Make Uncle Sam Gnome Paper Craft 

Time needed: 15 minutes

  1. Print the template and cut the elements out.

    Trace the moustache, beard, flag stripes and stars on white craft paper; hat, flag, and boots on red paper; nose and face on pink construction paper; hat’s band, robe and canton on blue paper. Cut out all the pieces.Uncle Sam Gnome Puppet with template

  2. Make Uncle Sam’s hat.

    To make Uncle Sam’s hat, glue the strip cutouts on the top part, above the band, of the hat and star cutouts on the hat‘s band.Easy Uncle Sam Gnome Puppet Craft

  3. Paste band on the hat.

    Glue the band pattern on the hat pattern. Cut a slit just below the band of the hat pattern.uncle sam gnome craft for kindergarten

  4. Make Uncle Sam Gnome’s face.

    Glue the beard cutout along the round side of the Uncle Sam Gnome’s face cutout and paste the pink nose cutout on the top middle part of the moustache cutout.uncle sam gnome craft for preschool

  5. Attach hat with the face.

    Insert the top end of the face through the slit of the hat as shown. Paste the face to the hat from the back to avoid the face slipping out of the hat.

  6. Attach moustache on face.

  7. Make the robe and the flag.

    Glue the shoe cutouts along the bottom side of Uncle Sam’s robe.patriotic uncle sam gnome craft ideas

  8. Make paper American flag.

    Paste the star cutout on the canton (small square cutout) and glue the strip cutouts on the big rectangle cutout to make the American paper flag.

  9. Attach Uncle Sam Gnome’s face with robe.

  10. Glue Uncle Sam Gnome to popsicle stick.
