How To Play:
Make paper slips according to the number of people playing. If there are ten people, you will need ten slips. Label 8 slips as “Common Man” and for the remaining two slips, label one for as “Detective” and one for as “Killer”. Shuffle the slips together.
Each player picks a slip from the pile and reads from it discreetly. The player who lands a slip with Killer written on it must wink at other players to kill them.
When the player, who is a common man, is winked at must call out “I am dead”. The detective must figure out who the killer is before the killer gets all the common men.

How To Play:
Each person is given a pen and paper. Every player must write down something funny on the paper and fold it back. Once everyone has penned down their silly sentences or jokes, the notes are collected in a bowl.
Each player then draws a note from the bowl and reads it aloud but with a straight face! No smiles allowed.
31. Musical Chairs
One of the classical family games that has been around for generations and is still loved by everyone. Perfect to play with young children as well as adults, “Musical chairs” is a complete family game.
How To Play:
Arrange chairs in a circle, facing outwards. The number of chairs should be one less than the number of players playing the game. One player will be responsible for playing the music and is counted out.
For example, if you have 15 players, one will be responsible for the music and you will need 13 chairs for the remaining 14 players.
All the players stand around the chairs. When the music starts, everyone moves around the chairs without grabbing them or stopping. As soon as the music is turned off, everyone must find a chair to sit on. The last person left standing is eliminated and a chair is removed from the circle.
The game continues till only one chair is left. The winner is of course the person who sits at last.
32. Twenty Questions
This is a fun guessing game in which one player thinks of an object, movie or an animal that other players have to guess. Each player gets 20 questions to guess and whosoever guesses in the least number of questions, wins the game.
33. Flour Game
This is a silly game that promises lots of giggles but only if you are in for a little mess. It doesn’t need much preparation, except for a few supplies and you are all set for silly fun!
How To Play:
Take flour in a bowl and pack it nicely to fit in as much flour as possible. Now take a plate and cover the bowl and turn it upside down. Lift the bowl off the plate so as to get a nice, clean mould of flour on the plate. Place a candy in the centre of the flour mould.
To play the game, each player takes turns to cut the flour cake using a butter knife. The catch is – it should be cut in clean lines without the candy falling off. The person on whose turn the candy falls off, has to get the candy out of the flour using his mouth!
It is a hilarious game as it leads to a face covered with flour, how hard the players try to keep their face clean while trying to get the candy out of the flour. Absolutely fun to play on thanksgiving or a long awaited family reunion.
34. Medusa
Medusa is just the perfect game to play anywhere as a family. All you need is a table to sit around.
How To Play:
Everyone sits around a table with their heads down and counts down to three. On the count of three, all players sit straight and look at the other players. Anyone who makes eye contact is out but is safe if they don’t. The game is repeated till there is only one person left.
35. Mail Call
If your family loves playing musical chairs, they will love Mail Call as well. It is an exciting game that uses chairs and has players running to sit on them much like in musical chairs.
How To Play:
Arrange the chairs in a circle minus one less than the number of players. All players sit on the chairs except for one player who gets to stand in the centre of the circle.
The player standing in the centre, the caller, calls out “Mail Call for everyone…” followed by a description like wearing shorts, having a dog or whatever they think. All the players matching the description must get up on the call and find a new seat for themselves.
The catch is they can’t sit on the chair adjacent to their initial chair! This will force them to run around the circle to find a new chair! And remember, the caller is also rushing to grab a chair!
The last person standing gets to be the new caller and the game continues.
36. Most Likely To
This is our favourite family game that always manages to excite us and get all of us laughing. We bet you must have played some version of this game.
How To Play:
All players sit close to each other. One person starts the game by asking a “Most likely to…” followed by a statement like sleep while reading, forget their homework or anything silly and humorous.
Players then point to the person they think most likely fits the description. The player with the most fingers pointed at is out. The game continues until everyone but one person is remaining.
37. Post It Notes Game
Post It Notes is one of the family games that has been ever so popular and always a big hit with kids as well as adults. It is a guessing game that will have everyone guessing their own identities!
How To Play:
As the name suggests, Post-It Notes are what you need and a pen for this game. Each player writes down a famous person or an animal or a comic/movie character on their post and places it in a bowl.
When everyone’s post-it is in the bowl, pass it around to the players and have each player pick a post-it and stick it on their forehead without reading what’s on it.
Now, everyone has an identity that they know nothing about, they must figure out who they are by asking questions like “Am I a superhero?” Or “Do I growl?”. The game continues till everyone gets their identity.
